More actions
Bolt is a Greek god power in Age of Mythology that is available to worshipers of Zeus. When invoked, a single military unit gets hit by a bolt of lighting which deals an extreme amount of damage, usually killing them instantly.
Damage
Bolt deals 10,000 divine damage to the targeted unit, or 2,500 divine damage if the target unit is a Titan.
Immunity
Bolt cannot be cast on the following units:
- Villager, Laborer, Gatherer, Dwarf, Citizen
- Ox Cart
- Berserks (only in the Archaic Age)
- Transport Ship, Roc, and Leviathan
- Son of Osiris
- Nidhogg
Bolt also cannot be cast on a few campaign-exclusive heroes:
- Arkantos and Arkantos (Blessed)
- Gargarensis
Gameplay
Bolt is often used to gain an advantage in the Classical Age fights by killing an expensive enemy myth unit or Greek hero.
Using Bolt in the Archaic Age to kill a scout is likely a waste, as scouts are cheap to replace and the opponent will most probably have already explored their part of the map by the time the player has had sight of their scout.
It is generally a good idea to use Bolt relatively early, when players' economies and armies are smaller, so killing a single expensive unit causes the enemy to lose a larger amount of resources relative to their income, and has a larger impact on the likely outcome of an engagement.
