Unleashes a fiery path of destruction

Inferno is a Norse Mythic Age god power in Age of Mythology: Retold - New Gods Pack: Freyr that is available to worshipers of Vidar. When invoked, Fenrir, engulfed in flames, charges through the battlefield, incinerating everything in his path and setting forests on fire, triggering a large explosion at the end. Fenrir's trample attack inflicts 30 hack damage per tick to all units in his path.

Gameplay

Inferno lasts for a rather short time, and thus it is ideally used to soften up an enemy town or army before finishing them off. Slow-moving units can easily die or suffer heavy damage if they fail to get out of Fenrir's fiery path of destruction or the ending explosion.

Trivia

  • When first revealed to the public, the Chinese Inferno's icon was originally the same image as Artemis' Flames of Typhon. This was confirmed to be a placeholder by the developers, and was changed in patch 2.0.
  • Inferno is the name of two Mythic Age god powers in Age of Mythology. It was first a god power available to the Chinese in Tale of the Dragon, and then another god power of the same name was later made available to the Norse in Retold. It was also planned to be an Egyptian god power during the development of Age of Mythology, but was cut.
