Creates a black hole that implodes to suck in units and then explodes

Implode is an Atlantean Mythic Age god power in Age of Mythology that is available to worshipers of Atlas. It creates a spherical "black hole" when invoked. This "hole" sucks in nearby units within a radius of 40 and then explodes, causing damage to all nearby non-flying and non-Titan units and substantial damage to buildings surrounding the impact of the explosion. The units sucked into the implosion receive 40 divine damage per second; the subsequent explosion deals hack and crush damage to nearby enemies and animals proportional to the number of units sucked in (+10% per unit to a maximum +100% damage).

Gameplay

Implode can be invoked on top of any enemy units or buildings. It sucks in nearby units over a period of time, and then explodes, throwing out the units, dealing damage to them as well as all nearby buildings. The damage dealt scales with the number of units sucked in the implosion. There is no damage cap for in Retold.

As Implode sucks in all nearby units, players should try to avoid using it if their own or allied units are nearby. To make the most of this god power, players should invoke it when the enemy army is massed, and utilize the time gained while the army is captured by the black hole to destroy the enemy's buildings. As soon as the explosion finishes, the player should send in their troops to quickly finish off the damaged, scattered, and out-of-formation enemy units.

Trivia

  • The best way to avoid loss of units and villagers is to garrison them inside the buildings to avoid being sucked into the vortex.
  • Caravans will not be pulled into the black hole.
  • They can also suck in such as Carnivorae and Spider Eggs. The ejected Spider Eggs do not survive.
