Valor is an Atlantean Classical Age god power in Age of Mythology that is available to worshipers of Prometheus. When invoked, it promotes an Atlantean human military unit or Citizen into their hero counterpart, and heals it fully.
Valor works only on the following units:
Unit | |
---|---|
Citizen | |
Oracle | |
Murmillo | |
Katapeltes | |
Destroyer | |
Fanatic | |
Arcus | |
Turma | |
Contarius | |
Cheiroballista |
Gameplay
Valor is useful early on to save resources that would otherwise be used to promote soldiers to heroes. It is less effective in the late game, as the established economies that helped reach that point make cost less of an issue. However, it has a short cooldown time and requires minimal Favor to recast, allowing it to be used many times in short succession.
Valor instantly converts the unit into a hero instead of requiring that the unit be idle as it is converted, and thus can be useful to use if an enemy myth unit arrives unexpectedly and the player needs a hero in the middle of a fight.
