"Infantry. Good against cavalry."
In-game description
The Hoplite is a Greek infantry unit trained at the Military Academy from the Classical Age. Hoplites are the standard infantry for the Greeks and usually form the backbone of their army.
Like other basic infantry units, Hoplites are a soft counter against cavalry and as such supposed to be cost-effective against most cavalry units. Heavier cavalry such as War Elephants and Jarls require hard counter units to be cost-effectively defeated.

Gameplay
Perseus is really good against myth units, just like any other hero. Since he’s a Greek hero, he’s also pretty strong against regular units too, even though his attack is the weakest out of all the Greek heroes. But his special ability makes up for that.
His special attack lets him use Medusa’s head to turn enemy units into stone, causing 300 damage. This attack is best used if you focus it on the strongest myth units like Fafnir, or Colossus in the enemy’s army.
Mythology
"◆ Age -- 36
◆ Homeland -- Originally Argos, later Seriphos and Mycenae
◆ Occupation -- Prince and hero
The son of Zeus and Danae, the mortal daughter of the king of Argos, Perseus and his mother were banished by his grandfather, who feared a prophecy that the grandson would kill him. Perseus grew to be a formidable warrior and protector of his mother. A suitor of his mother sent Perseus on a hopeless quest to kill Medusa, which he fulfilled with the help of Athena and Hermes. Returning home, he slew a ravaging sea monster and freed the beautiful Andromeda, whom he took as his wife. Perseus eventually killed his grandfather as prophesied, in an accident with a discus, but refused to become ruler of Argos. He ruled instead over Tiryns and Mycenae, establishing a family whose descendants included Heracles."
