Jason ordered the construction of the great ship Argo and gathered a host of heroes, thereafter known as the Argonauts, to accompany him. After a number of adventures, including the first passage of the Symplegades (the Bosphorus), the Argonauts arrived at Colchis, believed to be somewhere on the edge of the Black Sea. King Aeetes of Colchis demanded that Jason fulfill a number of tasks to obtain the fleece, including plowing a field with fire-breathing oxen, sowing the teeth of a dragon in a field and fighting the army that rose up from them, and finally defeating the dragon that guarded the fleece itself. With the fleece in hand, Jason fled with Aeetes' daughter Medea and had many adventures on the return journey. Medea engineered the death of King Pelias, fulfilling the old prophecy. When their marriage failed, Medea took a terrible revenge, killing their sons as well as Jason's new bride Creusa. Jason was killed many years later by a timber that fell from the Argo.|In-game compendium}} |

* Early screens show Ajax originally was going to use a sword, however this was changed for unknown reasons. |
|||
* Jason's in-game model wears only one sandal. This is a reference to the story of King Pelias, mentioned in the Mythology section, who was told by an oracle to "beware of the man wearing a single sandal". Jason lost a sandal while helping [[Hera]], who was disguised as an old woman, cross a river. |

*Unlike in the Iliad, Ajax does not die from suicide, but instead lives on for at least a decade after the Trojan War. |

* During the campaign cutscenes, Ajax has a sarcastic and rather aggressive attitude. |
|||
* Comically, Ajax seems to be fond of pulling off the heads of his foes. Throughout the original campaign, he mentions it thrice (both in the original game and in The Titans). |

** The first instance is in the post cutscene of the campaign scenario Isis, Hear My Plea in Fall of the Trident. When Gargarensis was interrogating Arkantos on the prison island, he said that the Cyclops may feel less like fighting after pulling off his head. |

** The second instance is in the opening cutscene of Betrayal at Sikyos from The Titans. When Kastor was tricked by the Atlanteans into attacking the Greeks, he told Amanra that he will pull off Kastor's head when he sees him. |
|||
** The third instance is in the campaign scenario Making Amends. As the player captures three settlements, Ajax will comment that after claiming the last Settlement, he will tear off the Titan's head. |
