Mythology

"Valhalla, the "Hall of the Slain", was Odin's banquet hall in Gladshiem. Its rafters were crafted from giant spears, and its roof shingled in shields. It had 540 doors capable of allowing hundreds of warriors to enter shoulder to shoulder. At the head of the hall was Hlidskalf, Odin's throne, where he heard the whispers of his Ravens and fed his uneaten dinner to his wolves.

"The fifth is Glathsheim, and gold-bright there Stands Valhall stretching wide; And there does Othin each day choose The men who have fallen in fight."
