"Ranged Soldier, Hero. Good against myth units. Collects Relics."
In-game description
TThe Godi is a Norse ranged hero and ranged soldier, which is available at the Great Hall once the Heroic Age is reached. Gameplay
Godis are the Norse answer to ranged myth units, and especially to flying myth units. Being one of the only four non-naval Norse units to deal pierce damage, they can also fill the role of standard archers from other civilizations, but cannot be massed as easily due to their greater cost.
History
"The Norse Godi is a hero that can be trained in large numbers. Godis are strong against myth units, but not cost-effective against other types of human soldiers. Their ranged attack makes them better than Hersirs against ranged myth units, especially flying ones. Godi is a title that originally designated a Scandinavian magnate who also functioned as a priest, making him a political and religious leader. These men initially held immense influence but were gradually supplanted by kings, who combined political, military, and religious power. In Iceland, where no one king ruled until its acquisition by Norway in the 13th century, the station of Godi lived on for centuries, although it lost its religious power with the coming of Christianity around 1000 CE."

Trivia
- Like Hersirs, Godis are assigned random names when trained.
- The Godi replaces the Bogsveigir from Tale of the Dragon while fulfilling the same role. The two units even have the same cost, with the only exception being that the Godi costs one more population spot.
